With “Konzept: zusammen suchen,” the Billinger & Schulz collective is developing a model in which artistic research becomes an independent, collaborative practice. At the heart of the project, which is supported by TANZPAKT, is the Winter Academy, a two-week laboratory for 24 participants from dance and other art forms, exploring questions of choreography, interdisciplinarity, and the digital body. Complementing this, the Summer Academy offers week-long mentoring programs with dramaturgical coaching, aesthetic experiments, and guidance on project development, visibility, and institutional engagement. This peer-oriented, low-threshold format supports recent graduates in their transition to professional life. The academies are embedded within partner structures such as FFT Düsseldorf, the NAXOS production house, Kunsthalle Düsseldorf, Z – Center for Rehearsals and Research, and Burg Hülshoff. The project responds to a real need and aims to establish a sustainable network that anchors research, exchange, and the promotion of emerging artists in North Rhine-Westphalia and Hesse in the long term, thereby sustainably strengthening the local and regional arts scenes.
